Versailles now 1 and 7 after 48-3 loss to SoBoCo
Southern Boone opened up the scoring with a 37-yard pass play in the first quarter. After one it was the Eagles leading the Tigers 7-0. Things would unravel extremely quickly for Versailles in the second quarter.
Within the span of 75 seconds, Southern Boone put itself up 28-0. The Eagles got a long touchdown run to go up 14-0. On the ensuing Tiger drive, Southern Boone intercepted a Sean Varner pass and returned it for a touchdown. On the next Versailles offensive play, Varner was sacked and fumbled the ball into his own end zone, where a host of Eagle defenders fell on it to record their third touchdown in 1:15 of game time.
Southern Boone would get another big touchdown run and another interception return for a touchdown before the half ended to claim a 42-0 lead at the break.
To start the third quarter, the Eagles blocked a Versailles punt and took advantage of the short field to go up 48-0. The Tigers would avoid the shutout by getting a 36-yard field goal from David Connor as the game clock expired to make the final score 48-3. Versailles is now 1-7 on the season.
