It's a good thing that the MSHSAA moved the start of the season back a week to do away with a playoff system that included games on Wednesday and Monday nights...compressing four weeks of games into three weeks. When it was announced earlier this week that Nixa had reneged on its chance to play a game against Helias on national TV, Helias coach Phil Pitts was careful to point out all the possibilities they had offered Nixa to still play the game on ESPNU. Thoughts on Jamboree
Our first look at Blair Oaks was about what we expected. The first string moved the ball straight down the field at a fast pace with the first string against both helias and Centralia. Indeed on the first drive against helias, it appeared the Falcons offense went a little too fast for Helias as the Crusaders appeared to be adjusting their defense as the Falcons were snapping the ball. Hard to believe...but football season is all but here. Friday night, August 15th at 5:45 we will bring you exclusive play-by-play and commentary from the Blair Oaks pre-season jamboree.
